A model for the Kennicutt-Schmidt [KS] star formation law for local galaxies is presented. Merging history of ultra high redshift James Webb Space Telescope [JWST] galaxies are studied via constrained simulations and it is argued that the KS law is consistent with the elevated star formation rates in these JWST galaxies.
